Denver NWSL Supporters Group dba 14ers

Code of Conduct Finalized as of 2.10.26

Our goal
The 14ers exist to create a fun, inclusive, and welcoming supporters culture for Denver Summit FC. This Code of Conduct helps ensure matchdays, events, and online spaces are safe, respectful, and enjoyable for everyone.

By joining the 14ers, members agree to uphold the following standards.

Community & Respect

All members are expected to:

  • Foster an inclusive environment free from harassment or discrimination. 14ers will not condone any prejudice or bigotry. Examples include but are not limited to homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, sexism, racism, and ageism. Any discriminatory behavior such as (but not limited to) hate speech and harassment will not be tolerated.

  • Treat fellow supporters, players, coaches, officials, staff, and venue personnel with respect.

  • Be mindful that our words and actions reflect not only on ourselves, but on the 14ers community as a whole

Matchday & Event Conduct

Members must:

  • Follow all stadium, venue, and supporter-section rules.

  • Not engage in or encourage violent, dangerous, or disruptive behavior, including throwing objects, fighting, or threatening language.

  • Consume alcohol responsibly and in accordance with venue policies.

  • Keep chants, songs, signs, and displays free from hate speech, harassment, or offensive language.

Support is encouraged. Negativity is not.

Players & Staff

Members must:

  • Maintain prior listed standards of respect when engaging with players and Denver Summit staff.

  • Respect the privacy of staff and players.

    • This includes no attempts at private communication through private messages on social media or anywhere else online/offline. This respect of privacy extends to the privacy of their family, friends, and home.

    • Engaging with players/staff at post game signings, in comments of public posts, etc. is acceptable as long as aforementioned respect is maintained.

    • Commentary on social media is permitted as long as there is no response expected from players. Attempts to engage privately in conversation is not permitted as it places an unfair burden on players to engage with fans outside established channels. Therefore true consent for communication cannot occur.

    • Any good faith attempts to engage with a player privately should go through an intermediary that can act as the player’s representative. This includes but is not limited to Denver Summit staff, NWSLPA representatives, or a player’s agent.

    • 14ers leadership will maintain an open line of communication with Denver Summit staff and any reported infractions will be taken seriously. Player and staff safety and wellbeing is paramount.

    • Celebration of players is welcome, invasions into their life beyond the boundaries put forth here are not. 14ers leadership will model this behavior for all members.

Online & Public Representation

When representing the 14ers in person or online (including Discord, social media, and other platforms), members should:

  • Communicate respectfully and in good faith.

  • Avoid personal attacks, harassment, or inflammatory behavior.

  • Help maintain welcoming spaces for new supporters and fans.

Accountability

If behavior violates this Code of Conduct, bylaws, or any other 14ers policies:

  • Members should report concerns of general member infractions to a 14ers officer, capo, designated Discord moderators, or safety officer.

  • Members should report concerns of leadership or committee member infractions to the  “14ers SG - Reporting a Violation of the Code of Conduct” Google Form, or email 14ershelp@gmail.com.

Enforcement

  • Upon the first infraction a member will be given a verbal warning that will be documented by the Secretary of the Board and the Membership Director.

  • Upon a second infraction a member will be given a written warning and be placed on probation for the remainder of the season or for 6 months, whichever is longer. Terms of the probation will be decided by the Board of Directors on a case by case basis.

    • Members have the right to appeal probation to the board and it can be overturned by a majority vote.

  • Upon a third violation a member will be expelled from the 14ers and cannot rejoin for one calendar year and must receive permission from two-thirds of the Board.

  • If any violation is severe enough, the Board may vote to immediately remove the member from the 14ers by a two-thirds majority vote.

  • A member can be placed on probation for receiving two violations or at the discretion of the Board by a two-thirds majority vote.

  • This same three-strike process is applicable to Board Members and Officers of 14ers Supporters Group.

  • Probation may be ended at any time by a two-thirds vote of the Board.

  • Serious violations may be referred to venue security or club staff when necessary.

Membership is a privilege. The 14ers reserve the right to revoke membership for conduct that undermines the safety or values of the group.
